With the spread of COVID-19, the issue of food poverty and vulnerability was highlighted to a wider audience, an issue that we cannot and will never ignore.

With the UK and Europe being placed in a state of mandatory lockdown, access to healthy nutritious food was further restricted for the most vulnerable as services heavily relied on were reduced. Here at Thomas Franks we were not willing to let people go hungry when we had the means to provide great tasting and nutritious food. This is when Feeding Communities was born. An initiative that set out to prepare and deliver hot and cold meals to the UK and Europe’s most vulnerable.

Many clients generously opened their kitchens for us, many people volunteered their time and many donated kindly to help the fight against food poverty. Many suppliers very kindly donated supplies, vans, and manpower to aid Feeding Communities.

Food poverty did not stop after the first lockdown period was eased, and neither will Feeding Communities. We will continue our fight to help as many people as we can. Everyone should have access to food, no questions asked.
